What I’m Watching
I think the term ‘legend’ gets overused in today’s lingo, however, in the case of podcast legend Tim Ferriss, I’d say the term is warranted. In this newly released interview with Colin and Samir, he shares so much insight that I’m sure you’ll gain some value.
Resource of the week
If your gym has a Concept 2 rowing machine, and you fancy giving it a go I highly recommend downloading their free ErgData app. You can connect it to any Concept 2 rower and it gives you access to the community to join in on the workout-of-the-day if you don’t know what to do.
Quote
“Information is useless if it is not applied to something important or if you will forget it before you have a chance to apply it.”
Tim Ferriss
News and trends
- Landlords in Wales are calling for the government to support the declining private BTL sector on issues that have been forcing landlords out of the market which includes tax reforms, clarity on the upcoming EPC regulations and the eviction process.
- New build flats bought for up to £900k ‘worth nothing’ due to shoddy developers. I’m really surprised that they weren’t covered by the NHBC which I’ve always been told covers stuff like this. Another reason to never skimp on your due diligence and check out the developer's past portfolio.
- A Reuters study found that 20% of people between the ages of 18-24 get their news on TikTok. Even though I’m far beyond that age bracket, admittedly I do the same. For a lot of the reasons cited in the report actually, it’s based on past consumption so I can curate creators that I trust and provide news stories I find interesting. Plus I feel like I’m seeing a lot of bias and agenda on the traditional outlets which I’ve made a point to stay away from, which I’ve done before I ever downloaded TikTok.
- South Korean crypto lending firm suspends withdrawals. Reminds me of a few years ago when someone I met at a networking event kept trying to sell me on this scheme that would provide 10% ‘interest’ if I stored my Bitcoin with them. Unsurprisingly that company doesn’t exist anymore.
