What I’m Watching

Arrested for a Social Media Post. It’s a short YouTube video that brings light to the slow erosion of freedom of speech we’re seeing in our society today. While in the media, countries like China and Russia are often vilified for these exact things, the video highlights that it’s existent in our society today even though many are unaware or deny it. The only difference is the content of what is censored and what’s not acceptable to say.

Resource of the week

I did just talk about ChatGPT last week, but I have to include it as an official resource this week. After some time, I am still very impressed and it’s definitely a tool I can see myself using more. I used it to generate some TikTok ideas and even got it to write the script!

Following my last newsletter, one caveat I would say is that there are still limitations. It’s not magic so the quality of answers will depend on the quality of the questions and input. It can give generic answers but occasionally can give some useful outputs.

Before every meeting, prepare. After every meeting, assess your progress, adapt your strategy, and prepare again. The secret of effective negotiation is that simple: prepare, prepare, prepare.

Thoughts

It’s been a slow start to the year for me, in terms of still playing a lot of catch-up with admin and being quite behind on the social media schedule. I’ve been thinking about Ray Dalio’s quote that we can have practically anything we want in life but we can’t have everything we want.

To fixate and focus on the things that matter most now. I’ve incorporated that into my life. Instead of juggling too many things, I’ve tried to really slim down the things I’m working on and hobbies that I can revisit at some point later in life to make way for the things that will move the needle now.

So I have just some questions for you this week to think about. What can you cut out of your life? Is there anything that is a time drain? What are the most important things to you and what are you willing to sacrifice to achieve that?
